Overhand Digging

Overhand digging in volleyball involves using your hands to pass the ball to a teammate after it has been hit over the net by the opposing team. Here are the steps to overhand dig a volleyball:

1. Position yourself: Get into a ready position with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent. Stand with your arms at your sides and your weight evenly distributed.

2. Anticipate the ball: Keep your eyes on the ball and watch its trajectory to anticipate where it will land.

3. Position your hands: Raise both arms above your head with your elbows slightly bent and your palms facing upward.

4. Make contact with the ball: When the ball is within your reach, move your arms forward and upward, making contact with the ball with your fingertips. Use the pads of your fingers to cushion the impact.

5. Direct the ball: Angle your arms and wrists to direct the ball toward a teammate. Make sure to keep your elbows straight and your wrists firm as you follow through with the motion.

6. Recover: Quickly return to your ready position in case the ball is returned by the opposing team.

Practice is key to mastering overhand digging. Focus on getting your body in the right position and making contact with the ball using your fingertips to achieve better accuracy and control.
